    Viewpoint director Clara van Gool gets special retrospective during Dutch Dance Week

    During Dutch Dance Week, various arthouse cinemas around the Netherlands will screen a retrospective of filmmaker Clara van Gool. The films to be screened include the following:

    Between 2 Houses
    (42 min., 2006, Viewpoint Productions) -- A couple's relationship is put to the test when a stranger moves into the apartment of the absent neighbors next door. Between 2 Houses is about the conflict between what you see and what you think you see, or would like to see. An intense, physical film about bouncing back and forth between routine and sensation, between the familiar and the strange.

    In Afrika: Oorlog is Business reist ZKH Prins Jaime de Bourbon Parme, specialist in conflictpreventie, door Sierra Leone, Liberia en Congo. Hij gaat op zoek naar de oorzaak van oorlogen in Afrika.     Africa: War Is Business, a documentary series exposing the economies that profit from warfare in Africa, will be broadcasted on September 5th, 12th and19th on Nederland 2 at 11:40 p.m. The series is hosted by Prince Jaime de Bourbon Parme, son of Princess Irene of the Netherlands, and was co-produced by AVRO Television.     The Hermitage Dwellers selected for DOKU.ARTS in Berlin

    The Hermitage Dwellers by Aliona van der Horst has been selected for the International Festival for Films on Art in Berlin, Germany. This documentary is about the employees of the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg. The film uses these so-called ''Hermitage-niks'' to illustrate the art, rooms and history of what was once the czar's Winter Palace. The festival will take place from September 14-17, 2006.     Grand Prize for The Hermitage Dwellers at FIFA

    The Hermitage Dwellers by Aliona van der Horst won the Grand Prize at the International Festival of Films on Art in Montreal, Canada.
    On March 19th, the festival awarded Aliona van der Horst's The Hermitage Dwellers with the award for best film. The Hermitage Dwellers is a film about the employees of the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg.     Brace former Rachid becomes famous

    In 2000, director Brigit van Dam made the documentary I want to be famous. In the film, Van Dam followed three young people on the rocky road to rhythm-and-blues fame. Then 13, Rachid was one of the youngsters dreaming of a successful singing career. Now, five years later, Rachid has became 'Brace', one of the most successful upcoming Dutch artists. In September of this year, he launched his debut album 'Strijder', he won two MOBO awards together with Dutch artist Ali B. and is still in the music Top 100 list with his song 'Hartendief'. Critics tell us that Brace 'has a golden voice', 'is a talented performer' and 'the new Stevie Wonder'.
