Brace former Rachid becomes famous

October 2005

In 2000, director Brigit van Dam made the documentary I want to be famous. In the film, Van Dam followed three young people on the rocky road to rhythm-and-blues fame. Then 13, Rachid was one of the youngsters dreaming of a successful singing career. Now, five years later, Rachid has became 'Brace', one of the most successful upcoming Dutch artists. In September of this year, he launched his debut album 'Strijder', he won two MOBO awards together with Dutch artist Ali B. and is still in the music Top 100 list with his song 'Hartendief'. Critics tell us that Brace 'has a golden voice', 'is a talented performer' and 'the new Stevie Wonder'.
